ABSTRACT
Las quemaduras por corriente eléctrica de alto voltaje afectan usualmente las extremidades condicionando lesiones extensas que involucran, un daño total y complejo de los componentes tisulares llevando a discapacidad importante. Habitualmente estas lesiones sonmanejadas de manera expectante con desbridaciones seriadas que usualmente alargan la estancia intrahospitalaria y llevan a amputación del miembro lesionado,el presente protocolo plantea el manejo temprano con liberación de síndromes compartiméntales, desbridaciónextensa, revascularización arterial y venosa oportuna, cubierta cutánea con colgajos libres microquirúrgicos modificando con esto el manejo expectante que habitualmentese le da aeste tipo de lesiones disminuyendo costos, numero de cirugías, estancia intrahospitalaria y brindando una rehabilitación oportuna.
Introduction: The high voltage electrical burn injuries usuallyaffect the upper extremities resulting in a huge damage that affect all the corporal layers representing a complex injuries with a big handicap. Usually this kind of lesions ismanagedin a conservative way with surgical debridation that results in limb amputation with a long hospital stay.This protocol recommends toinitiate in an early way with fasciotomies, release any co mpartimentalsyndrome,extensive debridation, early revascularization and wound coverage with microsurgical flaps changing the way that this kind of injuries are treatment, lowering the number of surgeries and giving an early rehabilitation.
